It is unfortunate that Summerset chooses to keep that matter out of open discussion until the deck is stacked and the train has left the station.

Condolences from Washington state

I would like to express my heartfelt sadness in hearing of the recent loss of Rapid City’s courageous officer.

My daughter-in-law and granddaughter live in Rapid City. In fact, my daughter-in law’s sister was working at Subway when this tragedy happened.

Here in Washington, we had a horrendous event two years ago, in which four officers were taken while sitting in a coffee shop.

It truly touches the hearts of all those who realize what a sacrifice the men and women in uniform are prepared to give — putting their lives on the line to serve and protect us.

With deep respect, I can only whisper a reverent thank you.
